Cassandra "Sandi" Freeman, Executive Editor, TRIBES

Tribes Magazine co-founder and director of marketing/public relations, Cassandra "Sandi" Freeman visited the MMS calss October 26th. TRIBES is the brainchild of her partner Leslie Cunningham.



Sandi shared the vision Leslie shared with her. The story of the growth and development of the magazine is as interesting as any story in the mag.

TRIBES started as a local magazine to highlight local artists in the Triangle, then grew on the strength of the stories.

Tamara Gibbs, Anchor/Reporter

Tamara Gibbs, anchor/reporter WTVD 11 ABC, visited the Monday-Wednesday Mass Media/Society.

Nerissa Williams, Journalist & Screenwriter

Ms. Williams is an Emmy Award winning Anchor/Reporter. She's worked most notably in Charlotte and Seattle. Nerissa is a screenwriter recipient of the ABC writers development project award. She volunteered with the 2006 "Full Frame Documentary Film Festival".



She shared her story of growth through opportunities with the students. They heard about the twist, turns, and challenges associated with even 'award-winning" careers.
